AI has completely disrupted the Internet. For good or bad. Its impact is shaping modern society as we speak. I believe Bitcoin has the same potential as money, but it seems like we’re missing out and
Thank you Joël for this article that makes me think a lot this morning…this day. My humble answer is that I see the paradox: centralisation vs decentralisation.
In short: the union of Bitcoin and AI is not just a technological question — it’s a question of political architecture. Do we centralize to grow fast, or decentralize to last?
Shouldn’t AI itself be decentralized in order to truly adopt Bitcoin?
You're right. On a protocol level, we should utilize local LLMs and engage with AI in this manner. However, there is the same issue as with Gen-AI and Bitcoin. You can't scale it to 8 billion people. Alternatively, you can, but it's unrealistic to expect that they'll all use local LLMs like I do, for example.
But the cool thing about scaling solutions in Bitcoin is that I can incorporate them with native Lightning nodes or my own wallet. Wallet Connect comes to mind as a solution to this. Again, we need to improve rapidly in Bitcoin to make this happen.
Your input gives me an idea for my next article about Comet (where I will review it), and I can bake my take on how to maintain financial sovereignty in there.
For now, I believe we will operate in a fast-paced mode, but that doesn't mean there will be simpler solutions to build purely decentralized systems, both in AI and Bitcoin.

First off, thanks for reading, Valery!
